Vitamin Recommendations for Pregnant Bariatric Surgery Patients
A good quality bariatric multivitamin meets or exceeds prenatal vitamin recommendations.
In general, women considering pregnancy and also during pregnancy are encouraged to take a prenatal vitamin in addition to consuming a balanced healthy diet. A bariatric patient who is taking good quality multivitamins made for bariatric surgery patients should be adequately covered. This does not address specific cases where your obstetrician may recommend an additional omega-3 supplement, or increased iron due to anemia.
What to look for in a multivitamin:
