Hawaii Bariatric Science Symposium
Dr. Steven Fowler is very active in his professional community and is a member and the current President of the Hawaii Bariatric Society a chapter of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS). Dr. Fowler and his chapter members have been busy for the past months organizing Hawaii’s first Bariatric conference, the Bariatric Science Symposium at the Aulani Resort in Koolina on Oahu on February 7, 2014.
The Hawaii Bariatric Society is dedicated to the responsible and safe care of the obese patient through promotion of preventative health measures, evaluation and advancement of medical and surgical therapies, and advocacy to effective care.
The Bariatric Science Symposium has been organized to bring together the medical and surgical fields for an educational half day conference addressing issues related to the complex and comprehensive care of the bariatric patient.
This conference is designed for physicians, surgeons, and allied health workers involved in the care of bariatric patients. Two well respected physicians in the industry, Alan Wittgrove, MD from Bariatric Center La Jolla, California and Ken Fujioka, MD from Scripps La Jolla, California will be speaking at the event.
